Excellent idea, Jim. I realize the privacy issue is a concern, but if individuals agree to put out their info on a limited basis, somehow, then I don't see any problems. On the 7point3 site, you had to log in to access that info which prevented random access, somewhat. Notice all the qualifiers. Maybe if one person made the list and would email it to others who requested it, that may filter it a little. On the 7point3 site, you had to have 200 posts to be able to access the info. (Just thinking out loud).
Edit: Have to spread the reps, Jim, but wanted to get you another.
i think thats a great idea Jim...lucky for me i copy and pasted the phone## and addresses off of the 7.3 road side...but dont give any of that info out..there was an agreement when that list was made and i stick to it....

Thanks Ron & Mark. What I would do with this one is compile a list of people who wanted to be listed and don't mind sharing the info. This list will be emailed only to people who are on the list and agree to be "part of the new help net work" or what ever we decide to call it.
Sounds like a winner, Jim. Might have to someway verify the info just in case a spammer would be trying to get the list. But if all the participants are FTE'rs, then there should be no problem.
What I would do Mark is limit it to our forum only and people that we know. If a new member wants to sign on, either he\she would have to be verified by a member and or use the post count just to see if they stick around and are serious.
Jim, you know I'm in and you already have my contact numbers. Wonder if Alan would turn the site over to one of you guys if he knew we wanted it. Or is there any free dot coms left available. Maybe FTE would give us enough secure space to the supporters to host a list of contacts. Just a thought, but we do have the site, we have paid for supporter status and a simple contact list wouldn't us much space.
Barry's idea of including only supporters would be another filter. Or is that being too selfish and protected? But if someone wants in, they know the way.
The supporter deal is the way it was set up on the 7point3 site. Site was open to all but the help network was limited to supporters only with a post count of 200 or more unless recommended by another help network member. Just kinda a way to protect ourselves.
Just got a call from farmb0y. They're back on the road. It was an easy fix. Now, don't be hard on the boy as the problem was No.8 injector was loose. We had replaced his original injectors with single shots this past winter. He did the wrenching and I was the "helper" handing him what ever he needed to save so much climbing. I was impressed with how he did each procedure to remove and replace each injector correctly and still can't believe that the bolt holding the injector came loose. I KNOW that he torqued them all correctly and sufficiently. We retorqued probably every bolt and nut under the valve covers, ie. rocker arms, etc. We didn't retorque the injectors after a few miles and maybe should have. Well, now we know that we should have. He put Tony's injector in just to get home and will replace the o-rings on his before he puts it back in and uses a lite dressing of lock-tite to help prevent the bolts from coming loose again.
Many, many thanks to Tony, White Buffalo for moral support, (his daughter was sick with a 102° fever or he would have come to help) and all you for helping get him back on the road. It's help like this from you FTE'ers that make this a great site.
I just returned from vacation at Yellowstone and noticed that the engine was a lot louder this time around.
I blamed it on the altitude, but now that I have read this thread, I am going to try putting the black one back in as an experiment.
That is an easy test, Dan, since you already have it. I mentioned that to the boy but he said that the symptoms didn't point to the CPS. But after reading about the problems with the gray one, the switch couldn't hurt.
Glad to hear you are back with no problems. Certainly appreciated you sharing your experiences with us while you were on vacation.
So... I talk to my brother who is a web designer/web master. With that said i am willing to take over the 7point3.com website... I do not know if this is what needs to be done. Or if there is another reason why it has disapeard. Either Way I am willing to help with getting it back up and going... If anyone here can help with some contact info or have more info on why it is gone. Please let me know...
