I just finished doing this on my truck. The best thing to do is heat it with acetylene, but be ready to buy a new dust boot (about 4$) I've already had them so bad that i cut a hole through the center of the threaded end with a torch, but this ruins the pitman arm so i dont recomend it. Also, put the nut on the end of the bolt and beat it with a hammer, the nut keeps you from destroying the threads. Good luck!
got a pitman arm removing tool? (yes there is such a thing) you can rent one from many auto parts stores.
Hold a second. I reread your post. Pitmarm arm off the knuckle?
the pitman arm bolts onto a splined shaft at the steering box, and the other end is a regular tie-rod-ish end that goes into the drag link. Is that what you mean? Or removing a tie rod end from the steering knuckle?
(in any case my answer will involve a tool you can rent. or the big-*** hammer)
