A 1981 Dodge pickup hit me in the *** end of the truck yesterday afternoon. The only damage I got was a bent bumper and a dent in the tailgate. His truck was totaled. I can't believe how well these trucks take a hit. My wife was with me and she was totally suprised too. We were like WTF was that. Then we got out and the other truck was crushed. We barely felt it. Luckily he had insurance so I won't have to pay out the pocket for this, but I have been wanting chrome bumpers anyway so it made me kind of happy.
Glad you weren't hurt. You're right, these trucks can take a hit. Two years ago I was rear ended by a drunk while driving my '99 PSD. We drove home. His car had to be winched onto a flat bed wrecker, as he was hauled off to jail.
Damn Zack when I read the title I though that you had wrecked your truck. I'm glad that you and the wife are ok......along with the truck. Make sure that you have the frame, axle, springs and stuff like that checked before you sign off on the insurance paperwork.

Damn that sucks, how was your truck taken care of. Did the court make him pay for the repairs or did it go through the insurance? Hope it was insurance because the way they do things in court takes forever.
Sucks that you got hit Zack, let them know that you need your truck back a.s.a.p., you can get a rental but it's not the same.

I think Zack's truck is drivable or even unharmed, in most cases the insurance co. will hash it out.
glad every one is ok...your right...i got rear ended once by a ricer..the SOB scratched my ball hitch lol he backed away and it pulled the plastic nose off the car...i never LMAO so hard in my life....

My insurance company had my truck in the shop the next day annnnd, they put me in a 2006 F250 6.0 PSD 4x4 while my truck was in the shop. They originally rented me a Ford Focus but I complained that I couldn't take the kids to the lake using the Focus so they got me into the truck. They then sued the drunk and got their money from him. The rental fee on the truck was around 60 bucks a day and I had for three weeks. Good for me, bad for the drunk.
I had a buddy get rear-ended in a Z-71 by a mustang and the only thing touched was his receiver hitch so he let it go. A week later he figured out that where the hitch bolted to the frame it bent the frame, and one side of the truck was riding lower than the other. Like Megawatt stated, check it all out good before you sign off on it.

Scott, good for you my friend... anyone stoopid enough to drive drunk deserves what comes their way.
Zak, glad to hear it wasn't serious, but I would definitely take the truck to a few shops for some estimates because like others have mentioned sometimes small stuff pops up that you don't normally think about.
I can't believe how well deer bounce off my front bumper, I shot one 10 feet into the ditch. Didn't do anything to the bumper, I think the deer died on impact into the ditch lol.
Sorry to hear about the wreck but atleast you got one more Dodge off the road and made the world a better place . When I had my wreck I was suprised at how well the truck held up to the crash. I agree with Kris get the 08 set up it looks great.
