I did a search and looked at the FAQ and found nothing regarding the FE engine and CNG conversion kits or set-ups....
In light of the "Pickens Plan" (pickensplan.com) what sorts of options are out there? I know there used to be kits for the old VW air-cooled engines....

I must be getting old ? CNG ? I know I'm going to feel stupid as ****... but thats how it goes lol..
S*rew Pickens plan. He's already made billions off our oil from speculation. Now he wants to ream you by having you foot the bill and invest in his heavily invested and crooked windfarms and CNG pipe dreams. Don't buy into this. His oil buddies have already EDITTED. The other day I was driving through Dumas/Amarillo TX during strong winds and only saw 2 out of 20 running. I was pulling a large trailer and could feel the wind gusts. I hope he suffocates himself on his own CNG and dies. Getting back on the subject, you would be better off investing your hard-earned money in a fuel injection setup, serpentine pulley conversion, electric fuel pump, electric water pump, and a truck bed cover or tailgate down method. Lighten the truck up and put skinnier tires on it. Install some cats on the exhaust if you want cleaner air. This will help our environment.

Well, I'm not endorsing him....just researching the options for CNG (Natural Gas) conversions...mainly interested in the cost, what's involved and the results in terms of Gas mileage and engine wear changes vs. gas.
All the suggestions you offered were nice, but I doubt the fuel savings I reap would be worth the investment cost in anything less than 2 or 3 years. As it is, I find gas prices to be a non-issue....it's a smoke screen for other issues that should be discussed.....most of our fuel cost issues are the result of too few refineries stateside as well as "big oil's" desire to keep stocks historically low to keep the profits historically high...not to even mention speculators....
Used to be, you could buy a Superduty with dual-fuel - either gas/propane or gas/CNG.
Don't let this go too political or I'll have to close it
CNG is hard to deal with - it takes a strong tank, because it doesn't like to compress as readily as even propane. And where to fill up, well, unless you have natural gas piped to your house (like I do) AND have a pump to fill your truck, it doesn't make much sense.
