Well still trying to figure out why my truck isn't starting. I'm tracking the fuel back. I tried pressure testing at the filter 0 PSI. So I took the filter off and Cranked over no fuel...
Is there an electric pump that pumps diesel to the mechanical fuel pump? I think its bad because it sticks in the on position, My dash lights stay on without the headlights on, and my dome lights stay on with the doors closed and my batteries drain.
Lift pump on the lower front passanger side of the engine is mechanical. If your starter turns over and you have twelve volts to the IP, and glow plugs that work- it should run.
Well yes I know that where it is what i'm asking is there a pump before the mechanical pump or is that it? Because I took the fuel filter off and cranked it over and no diesel it pumping out of it.
The factory didn't put an electric pump on at all but someone could have added one.
If you do find one, or add one, DO NOT run it through the engine mounted/factory pump. It could rupture the diaphram in the pump and fill you crankcase with diesel. NOT GOOD.
This is a crappy thing to say but it sounds like you have a mess with the wiring/electrical problems.
