The inner casting looks rough, the rotor also looks identical to Power Stop/slot rotors. I am not a fan of drilled/slotted rotors anymore. I guess it's not a bad price for rotors and pads all around though.

I have a pair of rotors from Rotor Pros on my Super Duty that I installed 3 years ago and they work great. It took a little time for them to "grab", but it is nice to know that I can stop pretty quick with no warpage. I just got my set of 4 from them (off of EBay) for my Excursion that I will install this week.

I bought and installed a set of drilled & slotted & zinc plated rotors and pads from brakeplanet.com and installed them about 3 months ago. I've been real happy with them.

I've been real pleased with Motorcraft rotors and pads.

They are specifically made for your Excursion/SuperDuty.

Here's a link to the brake section. You have options/links that go to each component for your specific year truck.

MOTORCRAFT® BRAKE AND FRICTION PARTS FOR FORD, LINCOLN OR MERCURY VEHICLES.

For my 2004 Excursion I used:

Front: BRR89 rotors and BRSD756 pads
Rear: BRR94 rotors and BRSD757 pads

I've posted this before...

My OEM rotors got the 'pulse' twice in 38K on the clock.

First time the dealer turned them under warranty at 24K miles but kept the OEM original pads.

Second time at 38K the 'pulse' returned and I opted to go with a set of Bendix OEM style rotors for $40 each from my local speed shop.

I've read a bunch on here that the 'pulse' may be more from the OEM pads shedding fibers/material and embedding on the surface of the rotors making them rough...

So...I went with Hawk LTS pads with the Bendix rotors. All told I've got about $175 in the front two brakes (rotors and pads) tax included...

I've only towed under 2000 miles so far since doing the brakes...but so far so good...

There are LOTS of happy cryo rotor members here with Hawk LTS pads as well...

I'm hoping that I become convinced that a decent set of rotors (i.e. clean) and a higher end pad (carbon metallic) should reduce the occurance of this 'pulse'...

The odd thing is that many on here have run OEM rotors and pads for MANY miles and have never gotten the 'pulse'...

Good luck with your decision.

Joe.

friend of mine says that every drilled rotor he's seen has cracked between the holes. he drags a camero and he puts Autozone pads on it every year because of the lifetime warranty, free replacement every time. Not a bad idea considering what racing will do to brakes.

Hawk LTS pads and powerslot cryo's and I put em through some very serious abuse recently chasing down a hit and run driver. I was into ABS countless times for a chase around some tight side streets with crazy angles for a few minutes. The brake fluid boiled a lil and is pretty dark but the rotors NEVER faded and I was able to brake hard enough to go into ABS over and over and over nad over and over! Probably 20 to 30, 30mph-40mph-5mph stops back to back to back.

Brakes actually seem to feel better and be easier to modulate now. Fluid was toast though lol. STock rotors, well I woulda ended up going straight and missing my turn due to not being able to slow down due to brake fade, or my rotors would shake the truck so bad my windows may have fallen off lol.

Powerslot Cryo/LTS pads for the win!

I agree!!! I installed the above and have had no problems. Make sure you follow the "bedding in" process and BE SURE to service the slide pins in the caliper.
