I just tossed my Vent Visor stick ons from my 2005 F-150 Supercrew. They are crap! The guage of plastic is really thin. They cracked when washing the truck. I was looking into Weather Tech in channel visors , but I am nervous due to my tint job . Would the tint be affected by the contact or cause strain on the window motor . I know the potential widow problems on the F-150 and dont want to contribute to this. I guess the major question would be Stick-Ons or In-Channel ??????????????????????????
I have had the adhesive vent visors on my last two trucks and they have held up very well other than a small hole on one from a well placed hail stone. Never had a problem from hand washing or touch less car washes.
I've had good luck with Weathertech too. Except with my current F150. I've had 2 sets so far, the first didn't fit, so I returned it. The second didn't fit any better, so I trimmed all 4 to make them fit.
Ive got putco chrome inchannel the fit on the rear windows is terrible. Was gona get weathertechs but had to have the chrome o well.Get the weathertech the fit is exellent.
I heard Weathertech is suppose to be really good. I currently have Ventashade stick-ons on mine, which are made in Lawarenceville, Georgia. These are tinted smoke colored, they stick on the outside and obviously do not interferre with the window tracks. They are made of durable plastic about 3/32 inch thick. I only wash my truck at home and would not recommend taking them through an automated car wash.
I had AVS on my 98 for 9 years when I sold it last year...had no problems with them. I suck them on and never did anything else to them. They lasted through car washes and bouncing threw the woods and never came off
Don't really care for those vent visors myself. Had them on my last truck and the only way they kept the rain out was rolling the window up to the bottom of the visor. And driving with the window rolled down, the wind noise was too much. Actually wanted to yank them off but was afraid they'd mess up the paint.
You gotta try living in the Northwest Frd67cobra. it litterally rained every single day when I was in the Seattle area. So you drive with your windows up/defroster on all the time, or you have your windows cracked about 2" with defroster off.
also, when I back home in Texas, they allowed me to keep the windows cracked slightly to keep it from getting 130F + inside the cab. Those vent things are livesavers in the 100F+ areas
