Just adding to what everybody has recommeded, i flushed mine out and replaced it with syth fluid and that fixed the whine the pump made. Is it possible you torqued the ball joints too much? I had a 78 bronco that it was possible to over tighten them and cause the steering to be hard to turn and also not return to center. I have never replaced ball joints on my truck yet so i don`t know if this is possible.
yea i got the same prob my 2000 7.3 turns great to the right but from stright turning to the left 1/2 a turn it gets tough. tough enough to use two hands and lifting myself out of the seat to turn. put in a new ps pump with full syn ATF and still the same result. except i get a bad grinding noise while doing it. while stopped if i turn the noise gets bad! even when i press the brakes too. im stumpped too can anyone help us
