Hey guys and gals,
I have been checking out some of those portable GPS's. I think I have come down to the final decision as far as features and model. I was wondering if anyone else may have experience with a Garmin C550? What are your thoughts about it? Does anyone have something different that they are more satisified with? Any input would be great. Thanks all!
Aaron
i dont have the garmen c550, but i have a garmen rhino 120 for hunting/hiking...and i have a garmen 76csx color handheld i use for my flats boat................love them both and that rhino is 5 years old
I have the Garmin 250W and love it. It does everything I need it to do. My son has the 550 and loves it too. The only thing I do not like about the 550 is having to flip out the antenna. The 250 does not have that and it picks up just as good.
wife has a garmin and likes it.
i was in west va back in 83-84. stopped to ask directions the guy told me if i didn't know where i was going i didn't need to be there. damn nice person, i bought a map.
I second the vote on maps, what are all these people gonna do when someone wipes out our overly relied on satelite lives??? you think our "enemies" havent got that idea in there head, if they crack that nut.... well yall can just stick with Ben and I. I work with a **** that is truly under the impresssion that the public has to contact the GPS people and update there info when they move!!!!! That is why there are some occasional errors! No use to trying to correct the idiot, it just makes your head hurt to realize there are people that stupid! sorry hor the hijack, i will continue to watch, my wife swears she needs one! Dan
I use a Delphi NAV200, Garmin's and Magellan's are overpriced IMO. I got mine for around $150, couldn't touch a similiar Garmin or Mag. for under $300. Does all the same things and even more than the base Garmin's.
I have one of Garmins oldest units. Its a Garmin 12.It still works fine for hunting & fishing. If I get one for my truck it will be the one that comes with the Eclipse cd player. I don't remember the model number but its a great head unit plus it has the Garmin unit.
Got a Magellan Maestro 3100, and it works great. Can't believe how accurate it is, and how simple to use. Paid less than $200.00
I know what you all mean about paper maps, but until you've had one of these things, you're lost, and you realize the map you have is out of date or you're looking, you won't appreciate how good they are to have. Technology marches on...
