I have a problem with no boost. It had a code p1247. While driving the harder you would push it the more exhaust sounded like it was fighting to get out. So after looking at all the plumbing intake to tail pipe with no problems found No holes in any of the tubes or rubber connectors and no flat pipes. Pulled the turbo( leaking lots of oil in to the intake and has a beat up charge wheel any ways) and found the back pressure valve stuck way past open. That closes off the port. Has this happened to anyone here.
SO THE QUESTION IS ABOUT THE TURBO BASE.
Has anyone had any problems with theirs with the controls, sol, for the back pressure valve.
I would have used the search but almost sure that it isnt called a back pressure valve.
Almost sure was almost right. It's the EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve). You could wire the valve, then gut the internals in the pedestal if you don't want to mess with it again. You could also spend the money and buy a Non-EBPV pedestal if you don't want the DIY version.
