Holley 7448 2 bbl Carb Question
I have been troubleshooting a carburator/fuel delivery problem for a few days. I have replaced the fuel pump, added 2 in-line filters both before the pump and one between the pump and the carb. Also replaced all rubber fuel lines. Still wasn't getting much gas to carb, so replaced the stone filter in the carb. Started right up on first crank So, now all I need is a little fine tuning. In playing with the idle mixture screws I noticed that the one on the passanger side has no effect on the idle even when tightened all the way down. The way I understand it, it should react the same as the screw on the other side, which when turned clockwise will start to stall engine. Whats the deal? It's a Holley 7448, 2 barrel carb on a 292 engine. Am I missunderstanding things? I thought there was one mixture screw for each side of the engine. What would this problem indicate?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Jed
