Hi all,
this is the first time on this forum.
I have a bronco ll that i'm working on.
I also have a 06 screw 2 wheel drive.
and 1957 f100
The question I have is ,On the bronco that has a 5 speed& electronic transfer case. I also have a good auto tranny with a manual transfer case.
But I would like to keep the 5 speed but use the manual transfer case off the auto trans.
Can it be done? taking the manual case off the automatic tranny and put it on the 5 speed.
I have all the linkage for the manual case,I just want a manual case.
I need to get this finished before winter.
Thanks
Russ
If both t-cases are 1350/54's they will interchange. The front output is different on the 1354 and on a few 1350's. So you need to check that. Might need to change front driveshafts if they are different. T-case shifters were made for different trany's and adapters. Measure the t-case shifter mounting bolts on both of the adapters (the ones on your 5 speed and the ones on the auto) If they are the same and the same distance from the back of the adapter (where the t-case bolts to) it should work. If not you will need the correct shifter for your tanny/adapter. Here is some info on shifters: New Page 0 Check your local junk yards for floor cover plate that is already cut and has a boot for both shifters.

Yes, there are a couple of minor things to deal with as mentioned, but, basically a bolt in deal. There is only one round bolt pattern for the Ranger/B2/Explorer (soon to be Aerostar if I have my way).
The transfer case only weighs 50 pounds empty (weighed mine on a digital scale).
The front drive shaft might be the same depending on your year vehicle. I am taking apart a 1990 with the electronic case and can compare that to my 1988.
