Ok so I cant seem to get a straight answer from any dealer. I want to know what the fuel capacity is in my 08 F250 4x4 CC standard bed 6.4L diesel.
I have been told its a 30 gallon tank and on a long bed is 33 gallon. Today I ran the sucker as low as I could go milking it to its last drop. It finally started to give a little resistance and I immediately filled the tank. I was only able to fill just over 27 gallons. Any help would be great!
The most I have gotten into my long bed is 36 but I am sure there is 2 more in there. Not sure on the short beds 28-30 sounds about right. I would say at 27 you are with in a gallon or two of being to their mark.
The 08's defintely don't seem to fill the entire tank based on when tells you that you are empty???
Mine used to be 30 gallon- got a Titan 52 gallon now and couldn't be happier. The range is nearly doubled! With the old tank I once ran it to where the computer said 0 miles to empty- I didn't do it on purpose but IIRC it took about 28 gallons to fill it. Used to take forever to get that last gallon in but when I had that stupid little OEM tank I wanted it full to the brim...
Remember that diesel foams quite a bit as you are filling. As you approach the top of the tank, click the flow down a notch to slow the flow. After it kicks, let the foam settle and continue to slow fill, stopping to let the foam settle intermittently. You will be amazed at how much more fuel you can add. It takes a little time to get it completely full.
I have a short bed crew cab PSD, tanks holds 30 gal, message center comes on at 22 gals saying filler er up. Long beds take 38. These numbers would be bone dry.
After market. The company is called, Transfer Flow. In Corona California.
It uses all the factory hardware, it took 2 hours to do the swap in my garage.

Great stuff, did you install yourself? There must be a lot of space by the wheel wells in duallies.
