Big Brown is Down...Won't start!
You said "The fuel system is working perfectly, now what?" Now the carb is part of that "fuel system" and if "fuel pours out of float bowl vents" it is NOT working perfectly!! Re-check your fuel pressure and reduce it a bit if you have an in line regulator. Take the cover off the carb, remove the coil wire and have someone crank it while you "diddle" the float to see if you can make it close/seal. You may just be "lucky" and have a bad run of needle and seats or 2 messed up carbs. You DID put the little washer/gasket on the threaded end of the seat when you put in, right????
Good Luck,
Gene
I did not over tighten.
I installed the washer under the float needle seat.
Ford rates fuel flow at 4.5 to 6.5 psi.(72 Ford Truck Shop)
I does not overflow when cranking. Only when started.
Is there something mechanical that could cause it not to accecpt fuel?
With the top of the carb off I could see the float pin retainer was not firmly seated on the needle seat slot!
It's beer thirty now!!!
Thanks all you guys for all of your sage advise.

I't runs like a top.
hole or tear. When you put it in, Did you make sure the arm was
UNDER the cam? Sounds like a faulty fuel pump. Check the oil.
It will smell like raw gas.
