Engine Trouble
My 95 Bronco (5.8L Automatic) has finally given me some problems. The engine stalls out sometimes, and then starts right up.
Sometimes does not start! Turns over but thats all. Like this morning at 5:00am. I took my gas hog to work instead.
Anyway when I came home from work and checked it out it started right up!
Thats typical as how its been acting.
But I have also had some other strange things happen also. Such as the "ABS" light, check engine light, and no airconditioning blower. Sometimes one or the other or all three.
Shutting down the engine fixes everything and I'am on my way.
I think its the computor. What do you think?

I agree. Another place to start is the ground stud on the fender next to the battery. Triple check it. Sometimes the stud is loose in the fender even if the nuts are tight. Then start cleaning other grounds.
LOL if the Bronco isn't your gas hog, what else are you driving? A tank?
Whenever the check engine light is on, step 1 is to pull the codes. See: Ford Computer Codes
It sounds like you have multiple issues. The ABS light, for example, is independent of almost everything else on the truck.

After you pull the codes, then post the information. This will help us diagnose the problem. If you have any qestions, use the search feature for this forum and search for pulling codes. After that, post the findings. For your A/C, does the compressor clutch engage? (That is the plate on the front). Most likely, your system is low of refrigerant. Your low pressure switch is keeping the compressor from running because you do not have enough pressure in the system for it to run safely.

Just ware is the ECM computor? I got a grey box with a red led and a small button behind the passangers side kick panel. Is that it?
I also have a blue box under the dash?
And one more black box under the dash. I think that one says keyless entery.

Nope.
Nope.
Nope.
The ECM or computer is usually the last to go bad from what I have read over the last couple of year here. It is possible but not likely.
I don't think I would be helping you by telling you where it is until you pull the codes and report back to us what the codes are in KOEO and CM. No need to blindly throw a dozen parts at it when the computer has codes for diagnostic. See Ford Fuel Injection How To Run a Self-Test

I was having similar problems. I have a 1990 Bronco with a 302ci 5.0L automatic. It turned out that the distributor had to be rebuilt. Replacing the Stator (PIP), rotor, cap, coil, the Thick Film Ignition computer (TFI) [Ignition Control Module (ICM)] (distributor mounted) and the spark plugs has gotten the truck running again.
It would nice if I could take it someware just to read the codes. I want to be in and out in 30mins. I dont want to make this an all day event.
That and I dont trust just anybody to work on my trucks.
I got a scanner at Kragen Auto parts once but nobody could tell me ware to plug it in. They all said it was under the dash.
Turns out it is in the engine compartment, and then I didnt have the right plug adapter.
Anyway since I got the covers off the kick panel does anybody know what the transfer case controler is called? My transfer case (electronic) works when it wants to. Normally I can push the button and hear the relys click and it shifts. But sometimes nothing happenes no click, or indicator lights, no 4x4!
I was searching for the part on line but cant find it. Maybe I need to know the correct name?

I will check the distributor. Funny thing with problems like this is, Its hard to find out why it wont start or stalls while its running! Its also a real pain when it wont start at 5:00am and works just fine when I come back home from work!
Electronic shift motor is most likely dying on your transfer case. Another thing to check would be your alternator, if more electrical problems arise. The hook-up for pulling codes should be on the driver's side firewall. Underneath the cruise control module. Hope this helps.

PULL THE CODES FIRST.

"The part" I am talking about is the electronic module that controls the transfer case.
Normaly when I push the transfer case button, I can hear relays click at the control module and then the transfer case shifts and the light goes on. Then I can shift all day long.
Othertimes, when I need 4x4 I push the button and nothing happens.
Since I dont hear the relays click at the control module. I figure it must be the button or the module.
The control module is used to engage the BW1356 transfer case 4HI at any speed. I read all about it once on line but I forget wh

you should really create another thread for your tcase issue. you have to many things going on in this one thread to follow, your not listening to anything we are saying so perhaps you should just take it to a shop and save us the headache of trying to help you. am i wrong???
