Hey their 46 ford buff were are you located. I might now were their is some 46 1 tons all complete but, It might be to far for you to travel depending were you are in canada. These trucks are located in MB. AJ46
Thanks AJ46. I'm in Ontario, I have talked to early ford v8 sales and they said they might be able to help with some parts as i only need a few other things.
Check out midwest early ford....they have a listing for 1942-1947 Ford Trucks. I need a set for mine sometime down the road also and I came upon the listing. But 1 ton might be different than 1/2 ton since the fenders and bed box are different also.
1 ton and 1/2 ton boards are different. As far as I know, I have never seen anybody reproducing the 1 ton boards. Like mentioned, check the swap meets, eBay, classifieds, even Hemmings.
I just posted a link to a 47 1 ton in Manitoba. If you happen to travel West to get this truck for me, I'll let ya keep the running boards, and maybe the bed (doesn't have tailgate). I'm looking to make a half ton street rod out of a 42-47 Mercury...I'd be basically buying it for the front clip and cab. The running boards look pretty good.
Did I mention I'd pay for the truck, gas, and meet ya up at the MN border? Just a thought, though don't hold me to it, I haven't got the wife's approval yet.
True, but Ford fenders should just bolt on right? My thought is to find a Ford half ton, and use the the better of the two cabs, and the Mercury trim and nose. All just in the planning stages of course.
The fenders themselves are not bigger, it's the cutout for the wheel that is bigger. The fenders themselves will swap, so you can put 1 ton fenders on a 1/2 ton truck and vice versa.
