Emergency flashers wont flash

Greetings,
My emergency flashers on my 88 F150 351W don't flash when you push on the brake, they just stay light until you let off. Is there an easy way to fix this?
The truck does have an electric trailer brake installed. Im not sure if it worked before or not.

Emergency flashers wont flash

I believe that is normal operation. It lets someone following you know that you have applied your brake.
