Help!! Brake trouble still....

I have replaced all the brakes except the proportioning valve, even some of the hard lines. I replaced the master, wheels, and booster. Still the brake pedal is soft after a block. I can pump up the brakes and they are fine. Next time the pedal is soft. I have bled the propoortioning valve, master, wheel cylinders. Vaccum bled and hand bled. Still get bubbles on the vaccum pump. No undulating big bubbles but small bubbles. I have adjusted the self adjusters. Any help would be great.

You still have air trapped in the system somewhere.

I'm not 100% sure, but doesn't the proportioning valve need to be bled too?

I know on the later trucks this is required.

I've never bled a proportioning valve, but never seemed to have to either.

If you still got air bubbles, then you still need to bleed them more. You're doing it in proper sequence(fartherest to nearest). Sometimes brakes can be the devil to get bled all the way.

I am going to start over

I am going to bleed the master, portortioning valve all the way down the line, I am also going to check all the lines againg and the fittings. I have never had such a hard time.... I also never have had to replace hard lines, or some one's prior attempts. I have only messed with stock to new replacement parts. This truck seems to have had a lot added to it, I have ripped out the trailer brake booster and many bent hard lines. Thanks for the encouragement, I thought I was doing something horrible wrong or forgetting a step. I might have missed something but we will see. Wish me luck for off I go.

Are you using a brake bleeder, or doing it Manually. Manually pumping the brakes and aggatate/airiate the fluid. You can get power bleeders for < $100 these day. The once and your done. No need for a second person.

Why, Good after nooooooooon. I do believe that there is a PIN on
the perportioning valve its self, that MUST BE HELD OPEN it looks
like a rivet, but you can make a tool to hold it open. it should be held
open thru the entire bleeding prosses. I hope this helps!

The "air bubble" has a tendency to rise. Sometimes on a "stubborn" system, it helps to lift the end of the vehicle you are bleeding as much as reasonably possible before bleeding and it seems to help to get the air out better as you bleed the system. Just keep bleeding it until you get it all out.

Got It!!!

I just started over at the master and went through everything. I don't really know what was wrong but I fixed the problem. It is now registered and on the road. I might even take it to work tonight. Thanks for all your help!
