bad idle

hello everyone, i hope someone can help me out here. i have a 92 f-150, with the 5.0 liter and a 5speed. its also a 4x4, but dont think that will matter. when i got the truck the throttle seemed to stick a little when you would step on the clutch. it slowly got worse until it would idle at 2800 or so and there was no way to get it to kick down. we had it tested and it said that it was the idle senor value. i put one of those in and it still does it. i found out that if that valve is unpluged it doesnt idle high. but now the check engine light is on. i have cleaned almost every connection under the hood with no look, any help anyone can give me i would appreciate. i thank you all in advance.

Red, did you disconnect the battery for a few minutes after changing the IAC? This resets the computer.
