Fuel system question
I have dual fuel tanks and have determined that i need to replace both fuel pumps and both fuel tanks. If I temporarily only replace the rear pump and tank, and leave the tank selector switch on the rear tank, will the fuel pressure stay where its supposed to, or will it leak out through the other pump/tank?
The reason I am asking is that I have to move from Milwaukee, WI to Houston, TX by NOV 1. This costs money. Do you see my dilema? And now that I have removed the sending unit from the side mount tank it was so rusted I cannot put it back together I have to buy a new one. All the local junkyards don't have it or want to much for it (New rockauto.com $75)
If the shuttle or HP check valve is bad in the front tank then the front tank will fill as you drive it and then overflow.
If the valves are OK in the front tank then it would be fine.
