FM/AM-DVD-GPS-TV-ETC Radio

I have been on the hunt for a couple of hours and finally found this 4.3" unit that is on E-bay.
http:www.econon.com/

Ordering this unit # E0905 from Hong Kong costs:
$417.00 + $19.90 Shipping = $436.90

The larger unit with 7" retractable screen sells for:
$474.00 + Shipping $19.90 = $493.90

Either unit is a nice unit and Econon claims it will fit a "Din 1" dash opening. I have no clue what that means.

Ordering directly from Hong Kong is quite a savings. They have online Tech Support and if needed you may have to send it back to China. $19.00 X 2 = $36.00 (maybe)

Now the bad news...........
All maps are installed at the factory and are NOT able to be upgraded. So, what you get is what you got, if the area changes, you don't.

Rog, I'm no expert but I believe DIN1 is what the OBS dash opening is. I know double DIN are the larger radios like what is stock in an SD or GM products. If you go to Crutchfield I'm sure there is something there that will tell you. Just my $0.02, but I'll pay more to buy from an American company than order from Hong Kong any day.

Kawa, don't do it. You wont believe the trouble I am having with the system I just got. New I was in trouble when I saw made in china on the manual. And the manual was useless. A hole days work to install and its going to have to go back to Circuit City.

I don't have any intention of buying this unit or anything like it. i became concerned when I couldn't find it on line using the info that was posted by the seller on flea-bay.

I found out that he didn't post the full model number, he dropped the "E0" and without it it was a PITA. He didn't want anyone to find out how much he was marking it up over what you could buy it direct.

Going to the web site and reading the posted complaints versus "I love my unit" was enough for me. I just wanted to find it and post it for the forum.

The good part is that the seller is a "Shipping *****" that's where he is making most of his money plus his markup.

I'll lay you odds that if you bought one of these from him it would be sent to you directly from Hong Kong.

It would be interesting to find out what he would do for you should the unit take a dump.

If I was going to buy one I would go for the 7' screen though. It would be so much easier to see.

OOps....I owe the forum an apology as I used a really bad word in the above message. I referred to the seller on flea-bay as a "Shipping W***e " and I should have used
"Shipping Lady of the night" or "Shipping Street walker"

My bad,

Rog
