aggravated
first off i hope everyones summer is going good and the trucks are runnin like beasts.
im getting aggravated because i want to go with my t5 in my 52 f1 w/ 302. i would like to go with 87-93 mustang pedals so i can use the cable clutch. im also using stock drums but want a power booster setup. could i use the mustang brake pedal and M/C or could i use the pedal with a different M/C (corvette m/c)? im not too good with this and my eyes are bleeding from searching so much.
thanks
aj
although I havent done it specifically, I would say that what you're wanting to do is not impossible...especially if you have a cable clutch setup. If you write down all the parts and what they came out of on a sheet of paper, then erase what they came out of what have you got ?? parts and one part doesn't know where the other came from
I'm using a corvette master cyl on a chrysler booster pushed by 72 ford pedal assembly... and none of them know they don't match !!!
If you have the fabrication skills to put it all together... you can make it work.
If you need some help on the vette cyl and matching it to 'something else' call C.H. Topping. CH Topping Brakes Vince is the owner and is a brake combining guru... he helped me with mine, rebuilt my booster and built up my corvetts m/c to work with it... here's some details on mine
PLUMBING DISC BRAKESON A
Installing Hanging Brake Pedals
hope it helped..

I stole the hanging pedal assy out of the mid 90's Ford Focus and used the pedal, springs, and bushings and fabbed my own brackety that tied the firewall to the dash and the steering column. I had to cut the pad off the brake pedal and extend the pedal arm a bit but that was no big deal.
I realise that you are working with a standard here and will have another pedal but I don't see why the same process can't be followed.
Yes, there were a few issues to work through. The bolt holes for the master cylinder were narrower than the mounting studs on the brake booster and had to be wallowed out a little bit to fit. You will also need to make sure the master cylinder pushrod is the right length..........too long or too short causes all sorts of funky problems. Even though mine has an adjustable end I still had to cut it down a bit to work just right.
Just because you can't find any info on the net doesn't mean it can't be done (or hasn't been done). You might pose the question as to what kind of pedal assy people are using with a cable operated clutch and see what kind of replies you get.
Good luck
Bobby
