I have a 1990 f150 with the 302 engine 72k miles.
It has a new radiator, water pump, wires, plugs, water hoses, new fan and clutch and it has a 5 speed.
The truck is overheating at idle when the a/c is running.
I don't know where to look anymore, any ideas?
You've replaced everything that I can think of that would cause it to overheat... Have you checked the water temp with something besides the factory guage?
You say it is overheating at idle. Is it running cooler while running at higher rpms? If so then you probably have an airflow problem. Mine will start getting hot while sitting in lines at drive thru's, traffic lights, etc. I have to kick it into neutral and bring the rpms up while in these situations to keep the temps down. I am considering an electric fan, possibly in the front of the condenser to push through while idling. Maybe that would solve your problem as well.
