Some examples please?

Not that I would ever use snopes as a credible source in the academic world.

Maybe use Snopes to see if Snopes is true or false.

I would have to be looking at them for them to be memorable. Iirc it was political stuff mainly. I definitely do not take snopes or any other site as gospel.

I think a good point might be the question how did SNOPES become the be-all end-all of 'fact' on the web? It's good to have sites that take rumors, or conventional-wisdoms, or whatever, and give a researched 'fact-check' on the rumor or conventional-wisdom.....

But they're not God.......But some people write 'SNOPES debunks this' posts like the final word has been given.

Easy, first off, a catchy name, one that is easy to remember , next get google and search engines to see that name in as many places as possible so that the the Google bots "see it" and the use very common key words so the site will show up in simple search terms ....

They seem alright, they do list their methods and sources most of the time, at least all the times I remember.

Once again, please someone provide proof they were wrong once?

Google is a great resource, even the simplest of terms bring up some interesting results.

snopes wrong - Google Search

Since you are the starter of the thread, it is up to you to bear the burden of proof, it is not up to me to prove you right.
