Good write-up Cody.
So when you turn the cruise on and set it, the PCM must "let go" of the APP reading and instead rely on a signal from the VSS? Or does it "remember" the signal from the APP and lock on it, so to speak? Yes I'm retarded I know, just curious and trying to learn so I can be 1/2 as smart as some of you on here.

Yes. Check it yourself if you like. First thing I noticed about my truck. Once you hit cruise, the pedal is deactivated and returns to idle if you let off. If you command more than is required to cruise the PCM responds and accelerates. In a gasser, the pedal moves up and down with grades as there is a throttle body with a plate. We do not have this. IOW, despite not having a throttle body/plate assembly, we can accelerate beyond the cruise simply by inputing more throttle than the cruise calls for. Just play with it and you will see what I am talking about.

BTW, great explanation Cody - but I would add Tony Wildman's custom tunning in there

Holy schnikees!! This thing BLEW UP way out of proportion. I think maybe I'll put a disclaimer on the next one letting everyone know that I don't expect any form of praise.....I'm just a hard-working guy that was waiting for something to come into the shop.

Thanks, though. I get creative sometimes.....

Cody... very well written. Easy to follow and understand. Very concise, especially given the breadth of issues you were covering. Kudos and reps to you, my man!

Excellent write up!! Reps sent.
Kris get off your lazy duff and read it. I am sure you will have something to critique about it, and that is what he asked for.

Using the cruise can actually HELP diagnose TPS issues.

Cody, what Pete said. Usually I have to get psyched up to read something "technical" but I started reading and didn't quit till the end. That is getting printed out and put in my "tech manual" for my F350.

Edit: umm..... do I have to pay a license or tech fee to print it out?
