I have a very good friend who in 1989, bought new a 25 th anniversary 1989 Mustang GT fastback.
He has the 302 V8, the 5 speed std., AC, it's a beautiful car that has never and I mean never been driven in the winter or the rain.
It lives in a 3 car garage and sits on indoor/outdoor carpeting.
I can't tell you where it is, let's just say, like the American VP Dick Cheney, it's in an 'undisclosed location' .
It has around 10,000 or so kms. Maintenance all by him and in a word...meticulous . Not a dent, not a rock chip, never been on gravel, just concrete and never on the road till May, after the street sweepers have cleaned the streets.
He is an extremely knowledgeable car enthusiast, who just occasionally takes it up to 4500 rpm, mostly short shifting it , under 2500 rpm.
BTW, he'll never sell it, but what do you figure a like new 'Stang like this would be worth ?
With only 10k on er, what maintenece, besides a couple (literally!) oil changes was done?!
Ive seen cars like that advertised for 25k, and actually morris posted one not long ago, I cant remember for sure but i thought that was around the 20k mark.
Sounds like a great car though, would love to have it!
I think it was 17gs, right Preppy was it that one that was like brand new condition in Regina. Dang Less that sounds like a very nice car its hard to say what its worth depends who is willing to spend what for it at least worth 20-25k I dont know what they are worth brand new back in the day

I think he paid around $14,900 for it. Why you can get a deluxe Hyundai Elantra for about that, now.
I liked the fastback, but was always a fan of the notchback 5 liter, LX, especially in dark Forest Green.

He changes the oil (Valvoline) twice a year, even if he doesn't run it much. Starts it up once every 4-6weeks, runs it for 15 minutes or so, runs the heat, AC, etc., to get all the juices coursing through it's veins.
He lubes it twice a year, always changes the filter and it is clean, never a speck of dirt on it inside and out.
You could eat off the engine and being a 5 liter V8, why there's enough room for a table setting for four.

His son will probably inherit it, in the fullness of time. If he ever did sell it, I wouldn't advertise it on this forum. I'd buy, then brag about it.
My buddy had an 89 convertible that was only driven in the summer. His had 120,000kms but he still got 12 for it when he sold it. He was very meticulous with it and it still looked brand new when he sold it.
