I thought the 2005 up had nice cast iron style headers? If someone makes 2008 headers, if the truck has the same cat setup as the 2005, the headers would have to be shorties.
I wouldn't bet on pre-08 headers fitting a 2008 model - the body changed a lot, and who knows what's in the way?
I'd wait until you find a set that says they fit '08s. Or, do your own homework and see if your '08 is the same under the hood as an '05-'07 meaning there's nothing in the way.
Well there is one more option... take it to a qualified shop aka one off's, if this does intrest you, head on over to burns stainless, drop them an email about qualified shop's in your area. I'd say it wouldn't cost more then 2G's for them.
I wanted to keep all the factory smog devices in place...I'd be pleased to get another 10 rwhp and 10 rwtq from the 'shorties' along with 1/2 mpg. I'll keep searching.
I had the OEM exhaust manifolds off of mine today, and theres' no way I can see the aftermarket can improve on the OEM 3V iron manifold in any way. If you think you'll gain MPG with any kind of short header-you're just fooling yourself.

Looking at the manifolds on my '08, they look the same as the ones on my '05.
Only a side by side comparison or a check of parts numbers would be able to confirm that they are the same.
If the manifolds have the same part number for the '08s as they have for the '05-'07s, then the headers for '05-'07s should fit.
I'm with JL on the manifold design. The late model ones look like a cast iron header. I don't think that an after market set would yield any improvement on an unmodified engine.
