I have a 79 F250 4x4 300 six. `
1500 miles ago I pulled the engine and replaced a worn out clutch and the rear main seal that was leaking. I put in a new flywheel,pressure plate, throwout,pilot.
Everything was fine until a few days ago. Now its starting to chatter at random but after 30 min of driving it gets worse, more often and more violent shaking. (Only from a dead stop.)
I am getting the slightest drop of oil every once in awhile from the bottom of the bell housing.
If I pull the engine and find and stop the oil leak, can I clean and reuse the clutch disk or do I need to buy a brand new disk.

 

if the disk has any oil soaked into it. it needs to be replaced.
even if you clean it. the oil will be deeper in, and when it gets hot, will come to the surface.
