Question Speedometer not working until 60 MPH

When driving below 60 MPH i have no speedometer, and the ABS light is on all time. Once i reach what i beleive is 60 MPH speedometer works, but ABS light is still on. Just curious what my problem could be. Thanks

It could be the vehicle speed sensor (VSS.) It's on top of the rear diff. It is magnetic and can collect steel filings from the diff. This will interfere with the signal. The sensor can also fail, which is not uncommon. It's about a $20 part and take one bolt and two minutes to change.

Welcome to FTE. I think Mark has this nailed down. Let us know if that is the problem. You can also get the sensor at NAPA, they call it the ABS sensor. Good luck.

If you have an auto trans, I'll bet it shifts a lot better now, too!
