I have a 76 F-150 Ranger with A/T A/C and ammeter/oil pressure/temp gauge/fuel gauge panel. Is there some way to measure or test the panel-mounted VR before I just buy another? My temp gauge stays low, the oil pressure gauge stays low, and the fuel gauge stays high, then goes to empty fast near the L end of the fuel quantity.

There are known to go faulty.

Grab 2-3 from an auto wrecker next time you're there.
or install an aftermarket gauge.
