I have been looking for an older ford just too take wheeling and beat on and i find something i might be interested in and was wondering your guys opinion. Its a 1990 fullsize bronco with a 460 swap with less than 40k and a C6 with 2 k on rebuild. It has a d44 with new shafts and 4.11 gears up front and a 9 inch, detroit locker and 4.11's. Its sitting on 9 inches of suspension lift and running 40 inch ground hawgs. The body is in decent enoguh condition for what im going to use it for.
He wants 3500 for it just curious what you guys thought?
it might be a little to much power, but the way i drive i dont think much of it would go to waste yeah i thought it might be a little high, but i figured i could always go lower and if he didnt want to sell for around $3,000 then id find somethin else
id offer 2500 , not much more, also look the cv joints over well, and check for any stress on frame.... make shure your not buying a overpriced 460 powered lemon...460 motors are nice but can hide problems like head problems... check oil throughly for water spots, and ask when the antifreeze was changed last... 3500 seems like alot to me, but hey i can be cheapskate too. lol
I'd have a hard time parting with that kind of cash for something that was built expressly for the purpose of beating the snot out of it. But I might if I THOROUGHLY inspected it and made sure everything was safe and working the way it's supposed to.
Some guys who work on trucks aren't very smart. They are the kind of guy who isn't on this site because they are either too poor to afford a computer or too dumb to operate one. Don't buy a heavily modified truck from one of those guys.
yeah i am going to look at it better tommorow after work and see what its like to have a 460 in a bronco. Ill see if i can get some pics and update tommorow

I was raised in our garage with my dad pretty much and spent countelss hours working on his race cars. I have alot more knowledge of cars and engines than most anyone my age (well more so the old carb style engines, not those fancy new efis lol)
