Hi Guys, I just bought a 2001 F150 Supercab truck. The autodown feature on the driver's window doesn't seem to be working. When I press the button down and release it, the window stops immediately and I hear a click under the dash? Both windows work fine otherwise. Any ideas?
Check your relay in the fuse panel under the dash it should be the 2nd from the bottom on the left side of the panel.also when my auto down works I have to hold it a bit then release.other cars its just a touch and they go down dont know why our fords are not like that.good luck
Yeah, I've tried holding the button down until the window is over half way down, and it still just stops when released. I'll check the relay though. What's the best way to test it? Thanks.
Is there a way I could test the switch? Anyone know the pinout of the connector that plugs in to the switch? Was thinking of maybe using a jumper wire across the correct pins, if possible? Thanks for the help guys.
Mine does the same thing. Has since I bought it. Every now and again it will work and surprise me. I know mine is in the switch, chances are yours would be too.
Hey, just thought I'd update this. It was the switch. With the key off, I pressed down hard repeatedly on the switch 20-30 times thinking it might clean the contacts inside if they were dirty. And sure enough, it works fine now! If it does it again, I'll see if I can take the switch apart and clean it up.
