well i've seen tons of shows on tv and seen tons of parts on ebay. but i'm not sure which route to go. i just want my transmission to not shift like a turd. its in 3rd gear by the time i'm going only 20mph. i have shifted it manually and it really moves that way. for the longest time i wanted to swap a manual tranny but i realize its not worth it and i will stick with the c6. so some type of performance shift kit for it, and maybe i will rebuild the clutches and bands while i'm at it.
Ford invested a lot of money in that fast soft shift and you want to throw it all out. lol
Down on the passenger side of the C6 is a vacuum module controller. There should be a hose connected to it from the top of the engine. Pull the hose off the unit and insert a slim straight blade screwdriver and check for adjusting screw. Get a pen and pad and keep notes. Start by turning the screw 1 full round clockwise, test drive the truck to see if there are any changes. By two full rounds you should notice a big difference. Make sure to keep track of your full and half turns in case you need to go back.
Should you pull the line and tranny fluid comes out, the diaphragm is bad and the unit needs replacing. Some are not adjustable and can be replaced with one that is.
