gauges are a must have.... Boost, pyro and trans temp.. cold air intake..you can do the 6637 napa filter mod for around 50 bucks..a 4"exhaust...more air in more air out will give you cooler EGT's and better power...you will better power if you did the air and exhaust before the tuner..if you are set on a sonnax VB..i have that kit with less then 2000 miles on it..if your interested in it let me know but most of us go with a BTS or John woods VB and have the DP tuned for it..

yeah, either do the VB or the sonnax, don't need both.
You need an EGT gauge.
4" exh.
6637 filter or AFE

Thats a good start, go crazy from there.

good deal..your off to a good start..
225 plus a core the last new for the bts Brians Truck Shop

if you want to spend a little more the in tank kit and harpoon is a good start as well as the HPX line..these will take the air out of the injectors and make for a quiter and smoother idle..the harpoon just makes for faster fill ups...

in tank kit ITP 7.3L Fuel Tank / Pre-Pump Kit
HPX line KCM S.S. HPX Line (99-03)

harpoon mod Harpoon mod (In Tank Mod)

I declined the Sonnax kit when I first started this trans fix because I didn't see the need to screw with the VB when a kit was already there for me. Why reinvent the wheel? Besides, the BTS VB had the shift plate that made it easy for me to adjust my shift firmness if needed. Good thing I did. The diode locked up and the VB was sitting in burnt cruddy fluid. I would not have felt comfortable transferring it to the new trans. Fortunately, BTS gave me full credit for it SIGHT UNSEEN.

You should also consider an upgrade to the fuel return. CCK from DFA, an inexpensive option, or one of the more expensive, easily adjustable, regulated returns. Do a search for CCK and/or regulated return.

I'd recommend the Regulated Return. It is more expensive but do it once and get it over with.
