460 throttle linkage help

hey guys once again i need help with a simple problem. i swapped the 460 in my 70 f250 4x4 and the last problem i have ran into is the throttle cable. the linkage that was on there for the 360 was a solid rod and it was to short for the 460 so i scraped it thinking it would be an easy fix. but this thing is kicking my butt! it seems like the intake is around 6-8 inches higher than the old setup so everything is in a bind anyone thta can help or has pictures please help me. btw it is a weiland stelth and 750 double pumper

I run a simple straight rod on all my trucks, as that factory mess is useless.

Buy yourself some threaded rod(1/4") and two rod ends and cut to fit. Simple and effective.

I've seen some 65-69 running the cables v8 not sure why..And some also with the I6 .. My 2cents

My dad had a 71' 429 that had a spring incorporated into the throttle cable itself thought that was really cool and i liked the idea of not have springs hanging off the intake.
