Cable or Linkage throttle setup, and why?
My 79 Originally a 302/ now a 460 F100 has a direct linkage style throttle setup. I've seen parts places sell a cable.
Any reason one is preferable to the other? Worth switching?

I thought '79 was cable, whereas everything before that was linkage. I could be wrong though. One advantage to the cable setup is that it's easier to snake around.

Was at the local yard today. Some were cable, some were linkage. I feel linkage would be easier to adjust with a custom carb/intake swap.. Guess I'll stay with that.

The advantage goes away if the cable snaps and none are available. Then what is someone to do?
'Dentside' F100/350 Accelerator Cables:
1974/79 F100/350 I-6 / 1979 F100/150 302/351M/400 & 1979 F250/350 351M/400 / 1979 F150/350 460 (specific to w/ or w/o A/C).
Cables were also used on 1965/66 F100/250 I-6 2WD/4WD's & 352 2WD's.
Up until recently, when it was repro'd, peeps were paying as much as 200 bucks for a NOS 1965/66 F100/250 352 cable...if they could find one.
AFAIK, there are no NOS cables for the other 1965/66 F100/250 2WD/4WD's (there are 7 different types!)...and none are repro'd.
