Truck Pulls

Well I finally did it saturday. I wasnt planning on it. I got up was just going to wash my truck and go to the fair and watch the truck and tractor pulls. Well my dad was like o you washing it for the truck pull. Im like ya I wish you would never let me. He goes go ahead just dont break anything and you do you fix it not me. Im like ok I can deal with that. I didnt do real good cause I was affraid to break something and it was my first time. But I got some good luck cause I was the second puller and the first puller the sled wasnt setup right so I was the new test puller and went again. I went almost 243 ft. It got soft towards the end. I never relized how heavy my truck was. The class use to be a 5800 but moved it to 6000 this year and my truck weighed in at 5940 and I have nothing in it. O and to top it off it was suppose to be a street legal class well there were some souped up old trucks that are just made for pulling and havent seen the road in prolly 10-15 years. O well I beat all the stock trucks in my class I think. Beat chevys and the only dodge was a old diesel and beat him by 5 feet so I was happy

thanks guys ya I found out I beat all the stock trucks. If them modded ones didnt pull in the street legal class which they werent street legal by far. But if they didnt I would have walked away with a big first place trophy and maybe some cash would have been sweet for my first time

Congrats..

Strictly speaking, your truck isn't stock either. Stock is bone stone. The exhaust and tire/wheel combo isn't stock, but this does show how even with its lower HP numbers the F150's flat torque curve gives it an advantage over other trucks when its loaded down.

ok well you got apoint. I guess what I ment when I said stock was engine wise. All the trucks were stock engine wise except the souped up ones. They all had tires and exhaust. I guess I should have cleared that up lol.

Ya me either. I always had a jeep grand cherokee. Ya I didnt have a choice hand me downs and my dad built the dodge chrysler jeep autoshows. so ya. I did have one problem it wouldnt come out of 4LO but after like a hour messing around my buddy told me put it in N and we rocked it back and forth and I got in and still nothing so I slammed it in Reverse and hit the brakes. Came right out. It was weird. But still alot of fun. I heard they wana put kill switches on the trucks to run them. Insurnace company for the sled wants all trucks and tractors to have kill switches so there goes my fun. Im not spending money on that for once or twice a year.

I love truck pulls. Sounds like you did good. I seen another 150 pull just like your at a pull. It did real good. Better then I thought it would by far. He beat a 2001 Chevy 1500 real good. The Chevy powered out the Ford kept going an spun out. Just goes to show Ford has that great low end torque in there motors. Do you have a closeup off that sticker in your back window. Maybe something I should get for my truck.

Usually they don't care about killswitches on the stock trucks. It is usually the altered trucks that need them.

Looks like you did great for a stock F-150! Just curious, did you use 4WD-HI or 4WD Low on your pull? Congrads!...............

Well I was talking to a bunch of guys at the pull before I went and they said they thing about the kill switch and it will kill the one stock class. Cause there is 35 guys usually in it and they said you will be lucky to see 10. Idk this is coming from the guys with modded trucks. They usually on got 10 and they have to have the kill switch. I will be mad if they do this. I guess the sleds insurance company wants it. I used 4lo 1st gear. Had a hell of a time getting it out of 4 lo had to put in reverse and slam on brakes. It was weird
