Question about changing external tranny filter
Hello,
I am in the process of flushing the transmission on my '06, and when replacing the external filter for the first time, the filter I was removing fell into the bucket before I could look at it. There is a plastic piece with a spring on it that fits over the end of the filter, but I didn't see if that goes on top of the filter, or on the bottom facing the street. The indentations on the top and bottom of the old filter matched, so I couldn't tell from that.
Anyway, I put it on the bottom (to push the filter up), but I wanted to find out if that is correct before I start the truck. Thank you.
