Ok,i Know Its Been Asked Before, but I Need Help, Just Purchased Factory Lights And Harness Asm From Ebay.where Does The Harness Plug In At ? Looked All Under Pass Side Can Not Locate Plug. I Do Not Have Any Overhead Consoles Or Etc. Any Help Would Be Great. Truck Was Built In March Of 07 If That Makes A Differance.
How long is the harness? If it's just a foot or so, check the a-pillars and under the head liner. If it's long, then I would expect under the steering wheel or behind the glove box, the wire run down the A-pillar.
According To Dealer, It Should Plug Into Harness Down On Pass Side Kick Panel,i Checked There Is No Spot For It To Plug Into. I Was Told That That If The Truck Was Not Ordered With Them You Can't Add Them , I Find That Hard To Believe. Also It's A Long Harness And Looking Back At Previous Threads, And Pics, It Goes On Pass Side, hopefully Someone Who Put One In Would Get Back To Me. Thanks For Trying.
or you could just tap into the parking lights in the head lights like I did because the excursion didn't even have the option for cab lights from the factory and that was the easiest way I thought
I bought my cab lights at a junkyard and I pulled the wiring harness from the truck. They ran down the passenger towards the kick panel. I cut the harness by the dash. When I mounted them on my truck, I ran them down the driver side and wired them into the parking lights behind the light switch since I didn't have the factory plug. It has worked fine since I did it a couple of months ago. I don't know if you want to cut and splice in a new truck, but that is what I did and it works great and I haven't had any problems.
I'm Trying Not To Cut Anything ,would Like To Keep All Factory. Especially If It's Only Three Mos Old To Me.looking Back At Old Posts.some Guys Say Its The Same Wire Harness For Map Lights. I Haven't Recieved The Wire Harness Yet Hopefully Maybe Repin Plug For Existing Harness ? Thanks !!
Did you remove the passenger side floor strip and then pull off the right passenger side kick panel? That is where the plug was located on my 2005 and everyone who has posted here with about '03 and newer (even some older) have had the plug there - just been a matter of having the right plug on the end of the harness - my plug fit was correct and went right in when I installed them. Seems odd to me they would stop putting this plug in the '08s unless it was ordered with them.
Ok!!! Found It!!! The Missing Plug Under The Dash For The Factory Lights On 07-08 S/d Is On Drivers Side Just Above Parking Brake Assm. All The Directions Everyone Is Giving Say It's On The Pass Side, Makes More Sense To Be On Left So Its Closer To Headlamp Switch . Now I can Finish My Install.I Hope. Thanks To All Who Are Triying T Help. Just Remember Guys, 07-08 Up Factory Plug Is On The Left Side.
Great news, I was going to ask the same question. I have mine being shipped from EBAY purchase, and I had already looked on the passenger side with no luck. I'm not sure where the wiring harness goes from the rear DVD player. I hope it's not part of the front harness as I forgot to mention that when I orderd the lights. Anybody know if the rear DVD player is connected to the front harness (I have satellite radio and GPS and I had to specify that when ordering the lights)? Thanks.
There are two different connectors due to the overhead console.
If yours doesnt fit the connector and you dont want to cut anything you can remove the pins from the connector on the light harness and plug in them into the harness mounted behind the pass side kick panel. Then use some electrical tape to hold them in. Colors should be Black for Ground and Brown for Power
