I just bought a 2000 Excursion (basically as a toy), got a great deal on it.
It has a noise that seems to be coming from under the passenger side, that makes it "sound" like a diesel (which it's not) for about 10-15 seconds. It seems like after I hit the accelerator the first time it's gone. It's almost a rattling sound, but not really....Mostly happens at a cold start.
I don't think it's comming from the transmission.
I've read some post about some EGR valve issuses, but that noise would be from under the hood right? I'm almost sure this noise does not come from under the hood.
