m50d not shifting
I just bought a 91 ranger 2x4 with a 2.3 and a 5 speed. The motor and tranny had been swapped from another truck and in the process they "buggered" up the QD on the tranny so they just cut the hydraulic line. I had to drop the tranny and replace the slave cylinder just to get the clutch line hooked up. After that mess I jumped in and fired it up. Went to put it in first and it won't go. Shifts into 5th and Reverse but no 1-4. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe the shift forks? Appreciate any input.

how do I get the rails in line? I pulled the carpet tonight to remove the top plate access cover only to find out that on this truck you can't get to the front 4 bolts. Do I need to take the top plate off or can I line things up through the shifter hole? I really don't want to take the tranny out again but if that's what it takes it really isn't that bad.

I was able to get the rails in line last night (pretty self explanatory once you look at it) You guys just saved me from pulling and possibly replacing a good tranny. Thanks!!!!!!
