Our 01 expy does not have a tow pkg. but the relay panel in the engine compartment has all the relays and fuses that my F-150 has. How easy is it to get an Electric Brake connector wired to pull a trailer with elect brakes. I have the controller in the F-150 and would just like to be able to swap the controlller from truck to truck. I looked under the dash for the factory disconnect and it is not in the same place as the one in the F-150. As for the trailer hookup I see a disconnect by the rear bumper and just need to disconnect the four pin and add the 8 pin.
Thanks
Jim
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Jan-02 AT 07:04 PM (EST)]Electric brake controllers are usually plumbed into the
brake line at the master cylinder to actuate the electrical
system for the brakes.
From your question AFAIUI you want to be able move the part under the
dash back and forth from vehicle to vehicle.
That's a lot of work to do that.
Just buy another controller and plumb it like the other one.
Then you just run the wires back to the plug at the rear of the vehicle.

Ground
The signal/brake & running lights are picked up at the back.
In this area you could just plug-in a Pigtail harness.
6-wire to 4 wire with a seperate one for the brakes.
