97 HD did you ever figure out how to preset radio stations? I am usually pretty good with this kind of stuff but the instructions are real bad. They say you can preset but dont tell you how and I just cant figure it out myself.
That unit is slicker than salts through a goose. Does th GPS come with it or is that a seperate purchase?

It does look very nice and it looks like the GPS comes with it BUT its in HONG CONG! and I am not sure the face will fit on our trucks since the radio is set back in the dash. Might be able to get one of those extensions for the front like on some GM cars but I don't know.

yeah i did figure it out. iv'e done lost my owners manual so i basically went pushin buttons till i figured it out. there are 5 presets. press the up and down button (above and below the volume ****) till which ever one you want shows on the screen. tune to a station then press and hold the up or down button and it will save it. keep messin with it you'll get it.
One last question for you HD. Almost every time I open the the front of the radio to put a cd or dvd in it I loose the video it just goes blank and no sound. There are time when things are working that I will remove a cd and when I close the door the screen goes blank but I still have sound from the radio. Have you had any of these problems? Any idea what can be wrong?
Hey 97 HD were you able to get a wiring harness that plugged right into the radio. The one I ordered with the radio fit the two plugs coming from the dash but the connector that went to the radio did not fit. I had to cut the connector off the radio and splice the wires from the harness to it. If you were able to get a harness that fit the radio please let me know where you got it because I think I am going to return this radio and get a new one because I cant seem to resolve this problem and I dont want to have to go through the cut solder and tape thing again.

Yes the GPS comes with it.I actually bought it from a US seller....that guy just had more details about it in his ad.The adapter in my truck for the Kenwood has a little pocket above the radio....I figure I can flip it so the pocket is on the bottom to have room for the face.I guess we will see this week when is shows up
97 HD, got the new one installed today. Every thing seems to work great. Going to pick up a back up camera tomorrow. Did you ever get a chance to install a camera? If so there is a brown wire thats called a "back a car detecting wire" in the wiring diagram. What is it for? I am thinking it goes to the reverse lights.
I havent got a backup camera yet. Where are you going to get one? Did you find a deal? I'm still looking. I still have my digital camera hooked up "temporarily"
Im not 100% sure what the wire is for. Thats still on my "figure it out" list. I figure its either to power the camera or ,as you said, hooks to the reverse lights and puts the unit in backup mode automaticaly.
