need help

I plan on buying my great uncles farm tuck. My question is what year do you think the truck is? Its a Ranger F-250. Got 4x4 and diff lock. Also how much should i offer him? It has 88,000 miles

Judging by the grill it looks like 72-77.

You might want to post this in that section. They can tell you for sure.

yeh its a 72-77. And to help out on how much you should give for it. it would depend on the motor it has in it. probably either a 351 or 460 is my guess. and there is an awful lot of rust are you ready to fix the rust problem before it basically destroys the truck

Thanks guys I posted it up in the other forum to help narrow it down. Where would i be able to find out what motor is in it?

door tag will tell you what it came with. need an engine number to double check. unless its an FE block then you'll have to measure the stroke.

the only problem with that is many people swap out grilles but it being a farm truck i doubt anyone did that

I agree....that's why I wrote "by the grille"....I was just clarifying what the pictures showed rather than trying to solve what year it really is.

The truck is still at his farm and i live about 25 min away. I will try to get out there next weekend if i can. Where will the VIN be located? In the door?

There should be an ID plate on the driver's side door.
