Ground Octopus?

In my MECP class one of the instructors was into imports big time, and told a group of us about the octopus ground. What some import companies are making is a ground distribution system so you can ground all of your components/sensors to a single point. It eliminates any potential voltage differences between the ECM and sensors. The little cars making 5-10hp by doing this.

Has anyone tried this yet? I am thinking able getting a spool of 18ga black wire and doing something similar.

Some imports, Mercedes-Benz that I know of has an G1 behind the speedo, a single 10mm holds several (10-12) grounds at one spot. Works well

I already have 1/0 ground from the alt housing to the firewall and 1/0 from the fender to the battery. I am thinking about connecting these two with another 1/0 and doing 18ga grounds to supplement the stock grounds to the MAF and any other sensor that's easy to get to all grounded to one point.
