It has been sitting for a few years at the farm and I just got it running again. Had to replace the brake booster, it would suck to the floor if I didn't removed the vacuum line. Now when I push in the clutch the brake pedal also goes down. This makes things quite interesting while driving. I have seen post about the clutch petal bushing the runs across through the brake pedal, so I got under there and sprayed some silcone, grease, and whatever else I could find trying to free it up. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I suppose I need to replace the bushing, but I can't seem to find one and I was also trying to figure out how to get it out of there? Any suggestions/ideas would be great. Thanks
Did you actually slither down under the dash, and push the clutch pedal with your hands, while observing what contacts what, to see what's catching the brake pedal?
Yeah, I looked under there at the bar that runs across from the clutch through the brake and then out to the clutch master cylinder. I really just wondering if anyone knew how to get the pedals out (if needed) to change the bushings.
You have to take out the whole pedal box, and to do that you have to unbolt and collapse the part of the steering column that is in the way. Once you have the pedal box out of the truck, you can pull the cross-shaft lever (mark its position since it is splined, this is your clutch adjustment) and the clutch pedal and cross shaft should come out the clutch side of the pedal box.
