Ppl swapped doors due to accidents, and forgot to swap the VIN plate over.
It's not a Ranger by that B81 Body Code. The Body Code is the only way to ID whether it's a Ranger or not.
1965: The only Ranger Body Codes were: F81 (Red) / G81 (Black) / H81 (Palomino)
There were no blue bucket seats available in 1965 or 1966.
If the VIN on the Warranty Plate matches the VIN on the registration...it's not a real Ranger = it's a FAKE!
The bucket seats used on 1965/66 Rangers are identical to 1965/66 Mustang bucket seats.
These seats have a hockey stick shaped anodized aluminum moulding that covers the hinge...if it's not there, the seats are wrong.
IMO = It's been made up to fool the unwary. Most ppl are KLEWLESS about the Ranger only Body Codes.
The Ranger front fender nameplates have been reproduced...so that part is EZ to fake.
Drill a few holes on the floor pan (Ford punched them out), stick in some bucket seats and a center console (same as 1964/65 Falcon Sprint), drape a vinyl cover over the gas tank: VOILA! = it'a a Ranger.
