That's scary. From what I could see on the video, I think that guy had some serious problems with his set up and/or how his trailer was loaded. It didn't look that windy and no other big vehicles were around him. If he had a bad set-up then even sway control might not have been able to prevent what happened. But I agree sway control is cheap insurance.

WOW! I have been there, almost! I got to swaying while passing a van and had to lock the trailer brakes and it still swayed 4-5 more times before it stopped! Scary stuff, that's why I only drive 55-60mph while towing! Even with the right setup that kind of crap can happen with just the right circumstances!!!

That sure looked like a big black "X" to me..Saw an F-150 today pulling one of those 30',or so, speed boats with three 350 horse outboards hanging on the back and he was having a heck of a time...He was doing about 55 mph and taking a lane and a half going across the Tacoma Narrows bridge heading north..Looked like the trailer was riding nose high and the truck was tail high..No w/d bars and no sway control..I got by him and we went into Gig Harbor and when we got almost to Bremerton,we passed him again and this time he was doing about 25 with a SP right behind him and was still having problems. I don't know if the trooper was trying to stop him or just getting him to an off-ramp..I'll betcha there was a ticket written on that one...
