Need some help with my brakes.

Ok, first let me say that I LOVE my truck! However, since I have owned the truck ('05 fx4 scab) I have put 32k miles on it, the truck has 62k total miles. At 42k it needed pads and rotors, and now again at 62k it needs rear pads, rotors, and calipers. Today I noticed that the left rear brake was dragging, and I immediately went to my dealer, and this was their diagnosis, and $1056.99 was their estimate . Needless to say I'm confused.

At 42k I could see that it may need brakes (the service was performed at the same dealer indicated above), but now at just 20k miles later, I can't see how it would possibly need brakes. I do not haul, or tow any heavy loads what so ever. It is my daily driver that is mainly highway miles, absolutely no heavy braking. What am I doing wrong?

On our work trucks i fined the rear brakes wear out 2 to 1 compared to the front. Personally i think its a week point on these trucks. Plus aftermarket brakes always wear faster than the brakes that came with the truck from factory.

the rear brakes do alot more of the stopping than the old rear drums used to. you'll find they need replacing at the same time if not sooner than the fronts.

20k miles is somewhat short an interval though. do you drag your foot on the brake pedal? alot of people do this and are unaware they do it

I have 33,800 miles on my truck and still have original brakes... at my 30K checkup my pads hovered between the "Green" and "Yellow" in regards to thick-ness... I can easily see myself getting 50,000 out of these brakes

20K interval is a bit short for sure! you might have a heavy foot

I was questioning myself on this today, but I don't believe so. I'm just really upset with the level of service that I have received from the dealership that I bought the truck from. I got a price quote from an auto repair shop $300 under their service dept. Hopefully that works out. Thanks for the help guys.
