Just had this idea about using the ign module from a EEC IV system
(brown conector) to convert a point ign to electronic as that system used a crank trigger.I experimented with one of those moduels some time ago and found that if you put one of the wires that went to crank trigger to either ground or 12v it would trigger a spark.I cant rember witch way it was.Could you use a set of ign points in place of the crank trigger?I have some of these laying around and they are almost useless.I think i will try it.Any input on this?
Lshort, you would not gain anything, because the points would still be triggering the coil, even if you could get the signal to go through the TFI module. If you could figure out a way to get a magnetic signal to the module though.....
It's hard to beat a Pertronix conversion, for simplicity and reliability.
